Overnight Apple Almond Oatmeal

January is National Slow Cooking Month. Break out your slow-cooker for this breakfast recipe that cooks while you’re sleeping so you can wake up to a hot, delicious meal any day of the week!

2 tbsp butter
4 medium apples
¾ cup brown sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon
2 cups old fashioned oats
4 cups water
½ cup slivered almonds

Spray your slow-cooker with non-stick cooking spray or use a liner. Slice butter into small pieces and put all over the bottom of the slow-cooker. Peel and dice apples. Then, cover butter with apples. Sprinkle cinnamon and almonds across the apples and pour sugar over all of it. Cover with oats and finally pour water on top. No need to stir, simply let cook on low for 8-10 hours.
