Fall Baking Staples

As the weather starts to cool and the leaves begin to fall, you might be in the kitchen a bit more, baking for the upcoming holiday events. We’ve compiled a few of our favorite must-have fall baking staples along with a few ways to use those items the next time you bake.

Sugar

Adding sweetness by using Always Save’s Granulated Sugar or Brown Sugar is key for sweet baked goods. One simple way to put a fall spin on one of our favorite fall produce is baked apples. Preheat your oven to 375F. Slice up 4-6 apples, removing the peels. In a bowl combine equal parts of brown sugar and sugar (we like about 1/4 cup for each) with 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tbsp of Always Save corn starch. Add in the apples and mix well. Bake for 30 minutes and enjoy with Always Save whipped topping.

Flour

Fall baked goods usually start with flour. Adding pumpkin puree to your favorite baked goods or even breakfast such as our Always Save Pancake and Waffle Mix.

Mixes

From muffin mixes to cake mixes, use each as a base for other items. Our 3 ingredient banana bread uses cake mixes to create a very delicious semi-homemade bread. Another shortcut for baking is using our muffin mixes to bake cookies.

You may also want to stock up on evaporated milk, vanilla extract, baking chips, and fruit filling (apple and cherry) to complete your fall baking staples shopping list. These items will help your create even more sweet treats to share with family and friends.
