Ingredients

Taco Meat
2 tbsp Always Save olive oil
1 small yellow onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 lb lean ground beef
2 packages taco seasoning
1 cup Always Save Beef Broth

Taco Bar Toppings
2 boxes Always Save Crunchy Taco Shells
2 cups lettuce, chopped
2 cups tomatoes, chopped
1 1/2 cups Always Save Taco Blend Shredded Cheese
2 cups Always Save Mild Taco Sauce
1 cup Always Save Sour Cream
1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can Always Save Whole Kernel Corn, drained
2 avocados, seeded and chopped (substitute guacamole)
1 lime, chopped into wedges
2 cups cooked Always Save Rice (optional)

This recipe is perfect for graduations, backyard gatherings, or easy weeknight dinners!

 

Directions
In a large skillet heat the oil over medium heat.

Sauté diced onion until soft, about 5 minutes.

Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the ground beef and increase the heat to medium high.

Break up the meat with a wooden spoon and cook for about 7 minutes or until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off excess grease if needed.

Sprinkle taco seasoning over the meat. Stir until it’s evenly coated.

Add in the broth and reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer uncovered for 8 minutes or until the mixture had reduced.

While meat is simmering prepare your toppings. Chop the lettuce and tomatoes.

Place each additional topping in its own bowl.

Transfer cooked beef into a serving bowl.

Set out all toppings in an assembly line to make your homemade taco bar.
